The Ubud Organic Farmer’s Market is a necessary addition to the Ubud healthy eating scene, since Ubud surprisingly lacks an abundance of organic markets or small artisan collectives that aren’t geared towards tourists seeking mass-produced souvenirs. Also, the Market is a meeting point of the healthy eating community and provides a chance for new artisans to launch their wares, meet their peers and customers, and get some brand awareness.
From the website: “The Ubud Organic Farmer’s Market is a collective of organic farmers, local growers and small businesses who operate an organic farmer’s market on Saturdays and Wednesdays in two separate locations in the Ubud area.
The market is comprised of businesses committed to sourcing ingredients locally, and offering products which are health conscious and chemical-free to the greatest extent possible. By selling directly to customers, they eliminate middle men and try to offer more competitive pricing.
The market sells organic vegetable and fruit produce, jams, soy milks and other drinks, healthy snacks, packaged flours and other staple items, organic and artisan breads, seedlings, health promoting plants and tinctures, soap nuts, household cleaning items and chemical free beauty products.”
